The proposed route will introduce you to almost all the towns in Istria, both those near the coast as well as the scenic spots in the hinterland. The proposed excursion could almost be included in the next group: the 54 km route takes you to a higher level by 368 metres. Who's up for it?

Cycling across the land of refosco

Purpose: getting to know the different landscapes of Istria, the panoramic views of the Bay of Koper, the Istrian hilly areas and to learn more about the villages of Koper’s hinterland. The itinerary takes at least two hours, and it is planned to cover 40 km by bike.

Challenging route throughout Istria

Who's up for it? The 83 km route takes us through four nature parks, the Istrian villages of three municipalities, from Koper, past Izola and all the way to Portorož. The fastest cyclists can cover the route in 4 hours.

Off the beaten track

A short and demanding cycling route through Piran’s and Koper’s villages. The starting point is from Padna, passing Koštabona to the highest point on the Šavrin hills - and finally reaching Pomjan. On the way back you will pass through Šmarje and Grintovec.

Continue uphill to Korte nad Izolo - a village in Izola's hinterland which is a perfect starting point for cycling tours of the hinterland. You will see old water springs, visit the Medljan farm or have a local olive oil tasting.

Route around Tinjan

The itinerary involves discovering the Istrian landscape, magnificent panoramic views of the Bay of Trieste and Koper with the hinterland in the background, part of the route going through the Osp Valley and even crossing the Italian border. The route can be divided into several stages.
