August in Slovenian Istria

30. 7. 2025

August brings a true abundance of summer moments to Slovenian Istria. The coastal towns come alive with the rhythm of summer bustle, and between the narrow Istrian streets and sun-kissed beaches, experiences await at every turn – from culinary delights and nature to culture and events you won’t easily forget.

The most beautiful spots for a swim in Slovenian Istria

Slovenian Istria offers countless spots for those seeking sun, sea, and relaxation. In Portorož, sandy beaches welcome you with a lively atmosphere, while Strunjan offers peace among pine trees and energy points along the cliffs. Piran features unique city bathing areas at Punta and in front of Hotel Piran, while those looking for more tranquility will find a perfect escape in Fiesa – a small bay nestled between greenery and cliffs.

Izola impresses with eight diverse, well-maintained beaches, with the family-friendly San Simon and the iconic Svetilnik beach standing out. Koper boasts a seaside park and coves with white pebbles, and in Žusterna, you can enjoy various sea activities. You can also find a peaceful moment on the former coastal road between Koper and Izola. Ankaran will take you to natural pebble and rocky beaches, always surrounded by lush greenery.

In the heart of the Sečovlje Salt Pans, amidst a unique salt-making landscape, lies Thalasso Spa Lepa Vida – an open-air wellness center offering special experiences of traditional thalassotherapy with natural products such as salt pan mud and brine. These have a beneficial effect on the body, skin, and overall well-being. Embraced by the sea climate and centuries-old tradition, it is the perfect place for relaxation and reconnecting with nature.

The sea breeze, pleasant shade, and gentle waves create ideal conditions for leisurely walks, jogging, cycling, paddleboarding, or simply unwinding in the shade of pine trees.
